Based on your physical exam, trigger points within the muscle groups may be identified. Trigger points are what we commonly refer to as “knots” in our muscles. When the Medical provider identifies these trigger points, a local anesthetic is injected into the muscle. The goal of this treatment is to break up scar tissue and provide pain relief. This treatment can also help improve mobility.
